Medical Office of the Department of Electronic Engineering in Chania

The Medical Office of the Department of Electronic Engineering provides primary health care to the Department’s students and staff. Its specialized staff can offer first aid in case of emergency on the University premises, during its operating hours.
The Department’s Medical Office is co-located with the Department’s Psychosocial Support Office and is located on the 2nd floor of Building A (directly opposite the elevators). It operates on a weekly basis, whenever the HMU doctor visits the Department.
More specifically, the Department’s and HMU’s Medical Office:

• provides Primary Health Care services, handles emergency cases, refers patients to appropriate health services,
• provides medication when available (e.g. painkillers, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, etc.),
• issues medical certificates for gym registration,
• carries out vaccinations based on the national vaccination program,
• organizes and coordinates prevention programs to maintain and promote the health of the student population (awareness campaigns on STDs, addictive and psychoactive substances, healthy nutrition, etc.),
• prescribes preventive screening tests,
• collaborates with the Occupational Physician.
