I Study with a Scholarship in Crete at the Departments of the Hellenic Mediterranean University

The first-year students who succeeded in the 2021 National Examinations^[1] at the Departments of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) whose admission points in the National Examinations exceed 10,000 can receive a reciprocal scholarship and study throughout the entire duration of their studies with the sole selection criterion being their performance in the National Examinations, without any other criterion e.g. financial situation, locality, etc. Each scholarship will be worth 2,500 € per year with the possibility of a four-year duration^[2] and includes, in addition to the amount, the full coverage of the meal cost at the University’s student restaurants. The selection of the scholarship holders will be made according to the admission ranking order of the successful first-year students for 2021 in each Department of HMU, from the admission points they gather in the National Examinations. The number of scholarships per Department of HMU is shown in Table 1. For example, in the Department of Management Science and Technology, the first 10 successful first-year students will receive scholarships, exactly the same will happen in the Departments of Electronic Engineering and Music Technology and Acoustics. ^[2]The scholarships will be of four-year duration and will be awarded to them each year, provided however that the recipient students meet the following conditions:

i. They have been successfully graded in courses corresponding to at least 50 credit units (ECTS) up to and including the completion of the September examination period of each previous year after the year of admission. ii. Their average grade in the courses of the previous year is greater than 7. The scholarships are reciprocal and will include a monthly compensation concerning 10 hours per week of assistance in the Department with a gross cost of 250€/month or 2,500€ annually and will be awarded for a period of 10 months (academic year). In addition, they will include the full coverage of the meal cost (breakfast, lunch, dinner) at the University’s student restaurants. These scholarships are not related to any other scholarships of the students or their rights to student welfare actions such as accommodation in halls of residence or free meals, etc. HMU Scholarships Press Release Scholarships
