The Department of Electronic Engineering of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, with an emblematic presence for more than 60 years in Chania, is an organic part of the society of Chania and Crete, actively supporting and participating in a wide range of social, cultural and volunteer activities of the city, the Municipality, the Prefecture and the Region.

- 09/12/2023: Support of the event “Christmas in Chalepa“, at Evangelistria Chalepa square.
- 20/08/2023: Support of the event “Music evening with the band Oktava“, at the small harbor of Agia Kyriaki Chalepa.
- 13/08/2023: Participation in the Commemorative Events for the 100 years (1923 – 2023) since the inauguration of the nearby Holy Church of Evangelistria Chalepa.
- 08/08/2023: Participation in the “Revival of the Traditional Strata” of the traditional Cretan wedding, organized by the Folklore Society of Chania.
- 31/07/2023: Support of the event “Music evening with Polymnia“, at the new park of Chalepa.
- 24/07/2023: Support of the event “Cinema under the stars” with the screening of the film “The Yellow Bicycle”, in the garden of the Holy Church of Agia Magdalini Chalepa.
- 26/06/2023: Participation in the World Day against Drugs.
- From 19/12/2011 to present: Establishment of the “Solidarity Grocery Store” on the ground floor of Building A of the Department (with entrance from Romanou 3 street).
- From 01/09/2011 to present: Hosting of the Cultural & Sports Association “Kyttaro Chalepas” at the Department’s facilities.
