Tην Τετάρτη 17 Μαΐου 2023, 10:15-12.30, θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην αίθουσα 5 ένα πολύ ενδιαφέρον εργαστηριακό μάθημα/σεμινάριο με τίτλο “Software Defined Radio“, από τον Βέλγο Καθηγητή Pedro Wyns του Βελγικού Πανεπιστημίου Thomas More.
Δεν προαπαιτούνται άλλες ειδικές γνώσεις. Οι ερευνητές, υποψήφιοι διδάκτορες, μεταπτυχιακοί και προπτυχιακοί φοιτητές που ενδιαφέρονται θα ήταν χρήσιμο να φέρουν μαζί τα laptop τους (μαζί με τους φορτιστές τους).

Software defined radio is slowly taking over the world. Embedded devices capturing and generating waves are everywhere. Even in your pocket now…
In this challenging hands-on SDR workshop you will install high-end software on your own laptop, not only to capture live satellite communication signals from 36.000 km away as well as airplane and meteo signals and shortwave stations from around the planet using the hardware provided in the classroom, but also to use the very same software from your home using remote radio receivers all over the world.
A starting level is not really required, just a healthy interest in electronics and software applications, as the course will start with an overview of analog radio systems and how they move to digital.
The workshop takes about 2-3 hours and aims at 16 students or 32 teams of 2 (max. 4 students) who should bring their own laptops (and chargers…)
