Την Παρασκευή 12-04-2024 και ώρα 13:00, η ακαδημαϊκή κοινότητα του Τμήματος Ηλεκτρονικών Μηχανικών καλείται να παρακολουθήσει την πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα διάλεξη με τίτλο “Optical Vortices in Liquids of Light“ του Professor Humberto Michinel από το University of Vigo, Spain, στο πλαίσιο των ATHENA European University Talks 2023-24.

In this talk, Prof. Humberto Michinel will review the properties of optical vortices in highly nonlinear optical materials. In these materials, the dependence of the refractive index on the intensity of light beams changes from increasing to decreasing, producing a state known as the “liquid of light”. Prof. Michinel will also describe the quantum techniques that yield these types of optical materials and discuss the implications from the perspective of the superfluid properties of these systems.
